Meet Chef Kari Rushing
Kari grew up in Front Royal, Virginia. She earned her culinary training from L’Academie de Cuisine and after a somewhat nomadic youth cooking under James Beard and Michelin awarded chefs, she settled back in her hometown with her husband and 2 small children, and opened Vault & Cellar in Middletown in a former bank. She is also a certified bourbon steward, and Vault & Cellar’s collection of nearly 300 bourbons earned it a spot on Bourbon Review’s Best Bourbon Bars in America in 2022.

Our goal is to create fun, creative seasonal offerings in an elegant but approachable environment. We look forward to having you in for dinner or drinks soon!
Vault & Cellar is a New Appalachian restaurant and bourbon bar, that balances the elegance and sophistication of a fine-dining experience, while retaining the whimsy and approachability of a food truck. The menu changes frequently, with such seasonal items as duck, rabbit, and quail, but with a more modern take on them.
